How to Reduce Toxins in Your Home

Sep 2, 2010 09:36 AM

Toxins are all around us. You can find toxins in the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, the heavy metals around us, caused by the stress we experience, the radiation that bombards us, and the parasites that can be found in our bodies.

How can we eliminate these toxins and reduce their presence in our homes?

Instructions

  1. Start by flushing out the toxins in your body! Participating in a colon cleansing regimen is a great way to get your digestive tract back on track.
  2. Reduce the amount of stress you experience by meditating and exercising.
  3. Reduce the amount of toxins you ingest through food by cutting back on the following:
  • Non-organic foods
  • Red meat
  • White flour and food made with white flour
  • Table salt
  • Refined sugar
  • Artificial sweeteners

4. Get rid of your microwave! Microwaved food is filled with toxins.

5. Reduce the amount of toxins you ingest through liquids by cutting back on:

  • Caffeinated drinks
  • Coffee
  • Alcohol

6. Reduce the amount of toxins you breathe in by:

  • Quitting smoking
  • Using a dehumidifier to control the amount of moisture in your home’s air
  • Use natural instead of chemically based air fresheners

7. Reduce the amount of toxins in the water you use by:

  • Only drinking clean well water or purified water
  • Test your water for contaminants with a home water test kit
  • Install a water purification unit

8. Visit your doctor and ask to get tested for heavy metals.

9. Turn off all electronics when they are not being used. This will help to reduce the amount of radiation you are exposed to and save energy.

10. Always wash your hands frequently, and wash your produce to protect yourself from parasites.
