How to Maintain a Clean Colon

Sep 2, 2010 09:02 AM

After you’ve participated in a colon cleansing regimen, you don’t want all that hard work and perseverance to go to waste, do you? By maintaining a healthy, clean colon, you can increase the amount of time that passes before you need to participate in another colon cleanse.

Instructions

  1. Make sure you’re eating not only the right kinds of food, but also at the right time of day. Eat during three different, evenly-spaced intervals throughout the day. This ensures that your body can begin proper digestion on your last meal before you eat your next meal. Also be sure to chew your food well until it is a liquid before swallowing
  2. Drink plenty of purified water. It’s recommended that you drink between two and eight liters (about half a gallon to two gallons) per day.
  3. Maintain a high-fiber organic diet.
  4. Consume at least five servings of organic vegetables and fruits a day.
  5. Exercise regularly (at least three times a week).
  6. Quit smoking! The toxins in cigarette smoke affect all of your organs, not just your lungs.

Limit your alcohol, coffee and toxic beverage intake. Also avoid diet drinks which contain toxic artificial sweeteners such as aspartame and splenda.

Tips and Notes:

  • Eat organic foods when possible.
  • Drink distilled water with apple cider vinegar for the best hydration.
  • Foods high in fiber include cabbage, brown rice, apples, peas, citrus, barley and carrots.
  • Use an oxygen based colon cleanser a couple times per week to keep the intestinal tract clean.
  • People over 50 should undergo one of the following screening exams:

      -Colonoscopy (every 10 years)

-Fecal occult blood test (every year)

      -Flexible sigmoidoscopy (every five years)

-Double-contrast barium enema (every five years)
